Thursday in Philadelphia
Joan and I decided to try Philly again since it seemed like there was still much to see there. We walked around Washington Square District and stopped for lunch at a Quizno's. One of our ideas was to check out the U.S. Mint but we soon found they had already stopped their tours for the day. :(  We decided to take the time and go through the Liberty Bell Center again and get a better picture of each of us next to the Bell since I realized my tongue was part way out in the first picture from Monday and Joan didn't like the way she had posed... So, page two has had it's pictures refreshed. After that we toured the old Liberty buildings where we were able to see original copies of the Declaration of Independance and where the House and Senate once worked (1789-1800). After that we walked over to Washington Square and viewed some of the memorials including the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Waiting for the train to take us from Media to Philadelphia. This upstairs room of Congress Hall in Philadelphia was once the meeting room of the U.S. Senate when Philadelphia was the capital, before Washington, D.C. was established as the permanent seat. The House of Representatives occupied the first floor. More info here:

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (http://www.ushistory.org/tour/tour_tomb.htm), not to be confused with the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetary (http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/tombofun.htm).
The entrance to Washington Square. If you read any of the history of this spot you'll wonder where it's ok to step...
